    NIOSH Certification Requirements

    All N95 respirators used in US healthcare must be NIOSH-certified under 42 CFR Part 84. Look for the NIOSH approval number (TC-84A-XXXX) printed on every unit and verify it against NIOSH's Certified Equipment List.

    Fit Testing Protocols

    OSHA requires annual fit testing for all N95 respirator users. Two methods are accepted: Qualitative Fit Testing (QLFT) using taste/smell agents, and Quantitative Fit Testing (QNFT) using particle counting instruments.
